Some details about the soldier: |
|
-I decided to design the chest armor in three parts, due to a special feature of the soldier's animation system. When the player turns right or left, the soldier starts turning the spine (this is implemented by code). Then, at a certain point, the model plays turn left/right animation. I really don't like to see those heavy armors bending. |
-The LOD meshes were automatically generated. There's an excellent article where you can see and learn the process of creating LODs for skinning meshes here (C4 engine oriented). |
-The tools used were 3DS Max 9 and Photoshop CS2. |
-The animations were created with biped. |
-I made a small test model for testing purposes for the armor. You can check the tutorial here. |
